Remote control: operate the scoreboard over the network
Control the scoreboard from any device on your network with the LemonScore remote control: laptop, tablet or smartphone, no extra app installation required.
The Remote Control lets you operate the scoreboard conveniently from a smartphone, tablet or another computer, as long as both devices are on the same network.
How it works
When you enable the remote control, LemonScore starts a local web server on your computer. Any device on the same network can then access the control interface through a web browser. No additional app installation is required on the remote device.
The remote control is particularly useful in situations where the operator cannot sit directly at the computer, for example at the side of the pitch or in the commentary box.
Enabling the remote control
- Open Settings in LemonScore.
- Go to the Remote Control section.
- Turn on the Enable remote control switch.
- LemonScore shows you the IP address and the port (for example
192.168.1.42:8080).
Connecting
- Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the LemonScore computer.
- Open a web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) on the device.
- Enter the address shown (for example
http://192.168.1.42:8080). - The control interface loads in the browser.
Do not use public or guest Wi-Fi networks for the remote control. These often block communication between devices on the network.
Available controls
The remote control interface offers all the key functions of the controller:
- Score: increase or decrease the score for both teams
- Match clock: start, stop and quick-select specific times
- Timer: start, stop and reset the countdown timer
- Playlists: start and stop playlists and banners
- Animations: trigger goal, yellow/red card and other animations
The interface is optimised for touchscreens and automatically adapts to different screen sizes.
Multiple devices
You can connect several devices at the same time. All changes are synchronised in real time across all connected devices and the scoreboard. This allows, for example, one operator to control the match clock while another updates the score.
Tips and notes
- Latency: on a stable Wi-Fi network, the delay is less than one second.
- Firewall: make sure the firewall on the LemonScore computer allows incoming network access on the port in use.
- Connection lost: if the connection is interrupted, simply reload the page in the browser. All settings and the current score are preserved.
- Security: the remote control is only reachable within your local network. No data is transmitted to the internet.
