Shortcuts: create your own action buttons

Create shortcut cards with freely configurable actions in the LemonScore Controller for quick access to the scoreboard functions you use most during a match.

With Shortcuts you create your own action buttons that trigger any function at the press of a button. Whether you want to start the clock, play an animation or run several actions in sequence, shortcuts speed up your workflow and can be fully adapted to your needs.

💡

Shortcuts appear as their own cards in the controller and can also be operated via the Remote Control.

Creating shortcut cards

Shortcut cards are configured under Settings in the Shortcuts tab. Each card appears as a separate box in the controller.

  1. Open Settings and select the Shortcuts tab.
  2. Click Add card.
  3. Choose the grid size: 2x2 (4 shortcuts) or 3x3 (9 shortcuts).
  4. Click an empty slot to configure it.

Configuring a single shortcut

When editing a slot, the following options are available:

  • Label: The text shown on the button (e.g. "Start clock").
  • Icon: Choose from an extensive icon library. Icons are sorted by category and searchable.
  • Colour: Background colour of the button. Pick a default colour or enter your own hex colour.
  • Image: Optionally, a background image for the button.
  • Show icon / Show label: Controls whether the icon and text are visible.

Available actions

Each shortcut triggers one or more actions. The actions are grouped by category:

  • Clock: Start, stop, start/stop (toggle) the clock or adjust the time.
  • Score: Score +1 or -1 for the home or away team.
  • Penalties: Start or stop penalties (penalty shoot-out).
  • Playlist: Play or stop a specific playlist, or toggle looping.
  • Music: Play/pause music, stop, next/previous track, or play a specific music playlist.
  • Animation: Play or stop a specific animation.
  • Banner: Show, hide or toggle the banner.
  • Display: Switch blackout on or off.
  • HTTP request: Send an HTTP request to an external URL (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) with configurable headers, body and timeout.

Multi-actions and sequences

A single shortcut can contain up to 5 actions, which are executed in order. This lets you trigger complex sequences with one click.

  1. Open a shortcut slot for editing.
  2. Click Add action to append further steps.
  3. Each step can have its own category and action.

Optional settings per action:

  • Delay before: Waiting time in seconds before the action is executed. Useful for staggered sequences.
  • Conditions: Actions can be tied to conditions (e.g. "Only if the clock is running", "Only if blackout is off"). This lets shortcuts react to the current state.

Tips and notes

  • Typical use cases: Create a "Half-time" shortcut that combines stopping the clock, showing a banner and starting music in one click.
  • Toggle actions: Actions such as "Start/stop clock" or "Toggle blackout" show visually in the controller whether they are active.
  • HTTP requests: With the "Send HTTP request" action you can control external systems such as lighting controls, cameras or other software directly from LemonScore.
⚠️

When you delete a shortcut card, all configured shortcuts on it are lost permanently. This action cannot be undone.
