Updates: keeping the software current
Keep LemonScore up to date: check for updates, download and install new versions of the scoreboard software directly from the app and enable the beta channel.
LemonScore checks for available updates and lets you download and install new versions directly from within the application. This keeps you up to date with bug fixes, improvements and new features at all times.
Updates require an active internet connection. Licence key authentication takes place automatically in the background.
Checking for updates
- Navigate to Settings → General.
- In the Version section you can see your current version number.
- Click Check for updates.
- LemonScore checks whether a newer version is available.
If no update is available, the message You are using the latest version appears.
Downloading and installing an update
When an update is available:
- The available version and, if applicable, the release notes are displayed.
- Click Download update. Progress is shown as a percentage.
- Once the download is complete, click Install and restart.
- LemonScore closes, installs the update and restarts automatically.
Save your current settings before updating. If needed, create a backup under Settings → General → Export backup.
Beta channel
If you would like to try new features early, you can enable the beta channel:
- Navigate to Settings → General.
- Enable Allow beta versions.
- Beta versions will be included in the next update check.
Beta versions can be less stable than regular releases. You can return to the stable channel at any time by disabling the option.
Tips
- Before match day: ideally check for updates a day before the event so there is enough time for the download and testing.
- Read the release notes: the release notes inform you about new features, changes and fixed bugs.
- Beta feedback: if you use the beta channel, report bugs via our contact form so we can fix them before the official release.
